Shri Kedarnath (Shiva) — first of Panch Kedar; Jyotirlinga
Three-sided Shiva lingam — approximately 3.6 m in circumference and height; the natural form is held to represent the 'hump of the bull'. Tradition: the Pandavas pursued Mahadev in bull form; when Bhima caught him the body split into five parts — hump at Kedarnath, arms at Tungnath, navel at Madhyamaheshwar, face at Rudranath, hair/head at Kalpeshwar — together forming the Panch Kedar.
