मनोकामना एवं फल

Debt relief and material prosperity

Tradition: Sri Venkatesha borrowed from Kubera for his wedding expenses; devotees today contribute to repaying this loan by donating in the Hundi as part of vow-fulfilment — 'Sri Vari Hundi' is the world's largest temple donation collection (2025-26 estimated ₹1,729 crore)

स्रोत: Venkatachala Mahatmya — Varaha Purana

Wish-fulfilment and the tonsuring vow

Tradition: hair offered by devotees is accepted by Mata Neela Devi (deity of Neeladri), per a boon granted by Lord Venkateshwara. On normal days, approximately 25,000-40,000 devotees take the tonsuring vow daily at Tirumala; peak days have recorded 85,518 (12 June 2015). 1,300+ barbers serve in shifts.
