Sequence of 13 vahana processions: Pedda Sesha → Chinna Sesha → Hamsa → Simha → Muthyapu Pandiri → Kalpavriksha → Sarva Bhoopala → Mohini avatar + Garuda → Hanumantha → Gaja → Surya Prabha → Chandra Prabha → Rathotsavam → Chakra Snanam. Garuda Vahanam (Day 5) = most awaited. 2026 SPECIAL — Adhika Masa year DOUBLE Brahmotsavam: (1) Salakatla Brahmotsavam 15-23 September 2026 (Garuda Vahanam 19 Sep 7 PM; Rathotsavam 22 Sep), followed by (2) Navratri Brahmotsavam 12-20 October 2026 (earlier estimate of 24 Sep - 2 Oct was incorrect — Phase E verification).

The Vaikuntha Dwara (door to the supreme abode) is opened for 10 days. For 2026: 30 December 2025 - 8 January 2026. On Ekadashi day 9-11 AM, Sri Malayappa Swami (with Sri Devi + Bhu Devi) is processed in the Golden Chariot. On Dwadashi 5:30-6:30 AM, Chakra Snanam is performed in the Swami Pushkarini.

Tradition: hair offered by devotees is accepted by Mata Neela Devi (deity of Neeladri), per a boon granted by Lord Venkateshwara. On normal days, approximately 25,000-40,000 devotees take the tonsuring vow daily at Tirumala; peak days have recorded 85,518 (12 June 2015). 1,300+ barbers serve in shifts.

Main temple of Sri Padmavati Devi (Alamelu Manga), the consort of Sri Venkateshwara — an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. TTD-administered. Vasanthotsavam (3-day, Vaisakha Purnima) is the principal festival. Tirupati pilgrimage is incomplete without Padmavati darshan.
Consecrated in 1130 CE by Ramanujacharya — to protect the utsav-murti rescued from Chidambaram (Tiruchitra-kutam). Tradition holds Govindaraja as Venkateshwara's elder brother. In yoga-nidra (reclining) posture.
